Monday 5 June - Home to Navenby

First apologies for the delay in getting the first few days posted - as you will see it's been a little fraught and we've just been too tired to spend any time on it. But we've caught up now, although it'll be a few days more before I get round to maps, photos etc.

But to begin, brought Bertie home a couple of days beforehand to check everything over and fill the water tanks. Gas topped off as well and hopefully we won't have any of the problems of our return from Spain - I'm still quite convinced it was the high proportion of butane that simply wasn't evaporating in the cold, but we'll see. He also got a much needed wash too.

We managed to get practically everything done by Sunday evening so there was little to sort before we left, just shutting the house down etc. so after posting a birthday card it was onto the A1 for the haul south. Traffic was quite busy but only the usual roadworks holdup at Birtley and the weather also chose to be bright and sunny as well. Nothing of any note, stopped at Wetherby for an early lunch and walk Jamie then a selection of Greggs finest goodies made a nice repast. Thereafter onwards to Navenby, the weather slowly deteriorating to become cold and dull, and a nice few hours with Mum before overnighting on her driveway.
